A few feathers in One Two's cap!

Hey folks,

We're so pleased to share lots of good news about One Two, our first full-length album released this past spring. One Two found itself on a number of "Best of 2017" lists, which we are so delighted about! Check them out below, if you'd like:

The Artery - WBUR
"...what sets the pair apart is the sensitivity they bring to the material, both new and old. Moynihan and Chaimbeul are unafraid of subtlety or softness, and they play off of one another other with great precision and freeness." (Amelia Mason) - Boston, MA

Freelance Fiddle
"I can honestly say that this record has without a doubt been one of my favourite recordings to come out in the past year. The effortless flow of this record is so all encompassing..." (Stuart Gill) - Glasgow, Scotland

WTJU
WTJU DJ's chose One Two multiple times. It appears on several of the station's Best Of the Year lists from this great station out of Charlottesville, VA.

KITHFOLK
KITHFOLK from Hearth Music, features a track on their Best Celtic Music of 2017 Playlist, among so many of our favorite releases, too! Seattle, WA

KBCS
One Two was also selected as a favorite by DJs at KBCS in Bellevue, WA.

If you haven't heard the album yet - it's available digitally from all the usual suspects. We  like bandcamp!

Hopefully see you soon!

New album!

We're back in Boston for a little while after a lovely time in Scotland. We started off with a lovely and truly harp-filled week in Edinburgh at the Edinburgh International Harp Festival, and then gigs in Sutherland, the Isle of Skye and Glasgow. Thanks to all who came out and made the shows special. It was a treat to share dates with the amazing Ryan Young & Craig Irving, Corrina Hewat Quartet, and to play some music with Brighde Chaimbeul and Hamish Napier.

We're so excited to say that our new album One Two is now available right here

We recorded the album back in November, in a beautiful space in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. The music was recorded & mixed by Adam Iredale Gray, photos by Louise Bichan, and graphic design by Mariel Vandersteel  (all of whom are amazing fiddle players, as it happens ).

You can download the album or order a physical CD to be shipped to you at jennaandmairi.bandcamp.com

That's all for now! We'd love to hear from you if you're listening to One Two.

Hi folks!

We just wrapped up an especially fun week on the WGBH's A St. Patrick's Day Celtic Sojourn shows, hosted by Brian O'Donovan. Truly an honor for us to be alongside some of our favorite musicians - Keith Murphy, Liz Carroll & the Karan Casey Band. Incredible dancing by Sam and Ruby Miller, too! Wowie. And we are very grateful indeed to the incredible sound crew, stage crew, management, everyone in between who make sure this show runs seamlessly.

A couple days here to catch our breath, as we look forward to our album release on Sunday, March 26 at our beloved Club Passim! Our new album "One Two" is here, and we can't wait to share this music with you all. There are still a few tickets left, so grab 'em now! Our pals The Sound Accord will open up the evening for us.

And then we are off to Scotland(more details on our gigs page!)

2 April - Edinburgh International Harp Festival - Edinburgh
7 April - Sutherland Sessions - Lairg
9 April - Sabhal Mor Ostaig - Isle of Skye
13 April - Folklub - Glasgow

Hope to see you! And a happy first day of spring!

xx

we got a blog

Hello there, passersby!

Check out this shiny new blog we have here! And nothing pairs better with having a blog than having news to share on it...good thing we have both.

We're getting ready to record a full-length album in November. We're so excited and can't wait to share it with you in the coming months.

If you're in the Boston area, we'll be debuting a lot of our new tunes at The Burren in Somerville, MA on November 16. You can find more info on that on the gig page here. We're sharing the night with our pal Galen Fraser - it's his album launch night, and it's going to be lots of fun, I can feel it already. The next day, we'll sneak off to New Hampshire to record!

More on all of that later...in the meantime, here's a newish video!

Happy autumn!
